there has been talk on various formats that this was a 2.3 litre 190E and the 6 litre was added later, i.e. non amg

IIRC the car started out as a 6.0, but sustained some block damage, and it appears from the text the block was sleeved back to 560 measurements, then converted to solid lifters.

A bit confusing but significant tidbit of info.

I have a 6.0 SOHC that I thought about putting in a 560SL project down the road, but this one is tempting.
