Re: 1990 560SEC 6.0L SOHC
Jono and I inspected the white SEC today. Overall the car is very nice and a legit 28k mike car. However it does have some issues:
1. Car was driven 21k miles it's first 2 years and 7k miles the last 23 years. The past 7 years only 700 miles.
2. The RF fender was hit at some point and the repair wasn't very well done - particularly the front point just above the turn signal lens. My opinion, the car deserves a new OEM fender. The paint on the fender is not a great match to the hood.
3. The hood nearest the RF fender is slightly bowed and is not flush with the RF fender.
4. There was some fairly significant PDR work for dings/dents done to the passenger side door and right rear panel just aft of the PS door. There are a couple of PDR holes in the door and near the striker that have PDR plugs.
5. The AMG center resonator center section has a significant caved in depression - probably from a speed bump.
6. The SLS system has been removed and the lines are still in place- the accumulator fittings are just sitting bare.
7. The guide rod bushings need to be replaced - rotted rubber. I suspect much of the suspension is original to the car.
8. The headliner is sagging over the DS.
9. The tires have tons of 16 year old tread....
10. No tool roll and only 1 key.
I know this is a hard review, but the price of the car and lack of disclosures begs for this review.
Having said all of the above, the car is nice and appears legit. Car starts, idles and runs well. Has AMG headers and a full Sebring exhaust. Like I said above, shame it has a blue interior. Has AMG springs and front AMG shocks.
