Lovely car, interesting to see a 1991 model with a M117 DOHC and not a M117/9 DOHC. Looks to be a Japan import.

Looks like the engine in this car is a SOHC from the pics. I translated the comments and it is from Japan, you are correct. Very nice late Gen II WB.
I sent a note to Roland about my single ET5 widebody wheel and he says there is very little pre-merger AMG following in Germany - it is much greater in the US. Not sure I believe that comment.

I can believe that the USA has the greatest pre-merger AMG interest as the USA was probably the largest market for AMG.

Could've sworn initially there was a M117/9 DOHC motor in there! Now I see a SOHC M117 as you said

lol, I was thinking the same. Very cool building, with it's own defensive tower too - I want one of those for my house.

Will be interesting to see how much this one ends up selling for. The +/- 54K US$ "Gross" ask seems above what I would perceive to be the current U.S. market for a Non-DOHC, stock interior, undocumented and presumably no engine mod WB. The 46K US$ "net" seems more in line.
Although - what is the meaning of the "Gross" vs "Net"? Is the Gross what someone would pay to purchase it in Europe (including the VAT)? If a US buyer purchased it, would the 19% VAT have to be paid by the U.S. buyer?

Yeah, you often see these types of foreign listings, for sale in country of origin before import tax.

VAT can be recovered of sold outside the European Union. Just like "duty free" !

Many of the high costing examples end up listed for a while. Would be interesting to know actual sale price.
