A familiar car popped up recently in FL, one which I had heard about locally in 2009.

http://www.autosourcegroup.net/vehicle/ ... l-fl-33126

A lot of mystery surrounds this car, even 10 years later,, still no motor to be found, and was initially for sale in CA, now Florida, ten years later. $10k then has gone up to $35k.

Car has the Richmond, CA based, "MC Hammer-esque" look that Barry Taylor seemed to frequent in his builds, Lorinser rims, et al. Note the crudely designed speedo face along with the 6.0 emblem using R107 560 badging.

Engine was a gen 1 top end as evidenced by the gen1 ezl. 32v or sohc based on firewall? Firewall panels on this car seem crudely mounted, too.

Still a mystery.

Interesting car. And sad it lost its engine because it looks in decent shape otherwise.

For some reason this SEC has Barry Taylor all over it in my mind. Down to the crude sticker overlay used on the 320 km/h speedo, and the AMG plate placard, amongst a few things.

Also reminded me of the engineless SEL in his shop (which looked to have enhanced pistons) sitting idle. Barry is on record, known to detest the 32v motors, he likely bought at the time the early, sand cast problem-prone versions of the heads when he came across the AMG parts grail.

The place called AMG West in Northern California was never an official AMG anything. The guy who owned it was named Barry something and he bought parts and put together cars, but never was connected to AMG in any way whatsoever ever.
