car is worth in the neighborhood of $2k in parts - wheels about $500, rare duck tail, Euro headlights, other bits

Can that three piece trunk spoiler be removed without damaging the spoiler itself? The car I just bought last month has one of those spoilers mounted to it and I have wondered ever since. I believe the two end pieces are bolted on and the long strip is glued on?idk?

If its anything like my 190's 3pc ducktail, which I'm sure it is, its a major PITA to remove. Genuine 3pc ducktails are made out of plastic, while there are replicas out there made out of fiberglass. You can hear the difference by tapping on the spoiler and if its a deep dull sound, its most likely fiberglass. They genuine ones were mounted via screws AND adhesive. There's a good chance trying to remove the spoiler pieces will result in cracks and breaks if you try to pry it off with a flathead screwdriver. I tried a strong fishing line technique and that got me nowhere. If you have a fiberglass unit, you will probably have the same issue and it might crack/break. The good news is that if its fiberglass, its an easy repair.
