Nice, clean and well kept 500SEC with some AMG bits.

Here are some of our observations:

The front seats appear to have been poorly wrapped in vinyl in places.



this would be representative of 1982 leather despite too much leather dressing:



Here you can see the difference in sheen between the front and rear seats:



The wood appears to have received a nice refresh:

The white speedo dial faces are not period and appear to be aftermarket eBay specials:



Upgraded speakers on a non period suede parcel shelf:

Ultimately, this is a handsome coupe that has cleaned up nicely. It has some cosmetic AMG options installed but limited to a body kit, wheels, steering wheel, door wood.

Well preserved, low mileage euro with some extras didn't hit the reserve at $83k! This is, or at least was, a $25-30k car IMHO. Seems there is more $ out there than ¢.

This 1985 Mercedes-Benz 500SEC is a European-market example that is finished in Midnight Blue over beige leather, and it is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes European-specification bumper covers, 15″ Gullideckel wheels, a sunroof, heated front seats, cruise control, automatic climate control, a period carphone, and a Bluetooth-capable Kenwood stereo. The car was imported to the US under prior ownership and spent time in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Florida before its recent acquisition by the selling dealer. Work in 2022 included overhauls of the brakes and suspension along with the replacement of the fan clutch, fuel pump, battery, engine mounts, and transmission mounts. This C126 500SEC shows 80k miles and is now offered in New York with a reproduction owner’s manual, a car cover, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Florida title.
